Job summary

Tetra Tech invites a Project Engineer – Roadway Design to join our Transportation team in Miami, FL. This mid-level, on-site role supports FDOT Design-Bid-Build projects and offers technical leadership and multidisciplinary coordination.

In this position you will lead roadway design tasks, serve as Deputy Project Manager, and mentor junior staff while ensuring compliance with FDOT standards and CAD practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required.
• EI certification required; PE preferred in Florida.
• Proficiency with FDOT design standards and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead roadway design components: geometry, modeling, cross sections, plans production.
• Serve as Deputy Project Manager: scheduling, task management, client communication.
• Mentor junior engineers and CAD staff.
• Ensure deliverables comply with FDOT manuals and standards.
• Prepare construction plans, specs, quantities, and reports.
• Coordinate drainage, traffic, structures and environmental disciplines.
