Job summary

Bay Ltd. seeks a dependable common laborer to perform general labor tasks under supervision on projects involving highways, roadways, sewers and bridges. The role supports crews by loading and unloading materials, assisting operators, and maintaining a safe, clean worksite.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and up to 6 months in construction. Strong punctuality, teamwork, and willingness to travel may be required; physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds is expected.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • 0–6 months experience in highway, bridge, sewer, and road construction.

Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, or identify materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans or specifications.
  • Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials.
  • Use a variety of tools and machines such as jack hammers, drills, earth tampers, and cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, grinders, saws, pressure washers, brooms, shovels, wheelbarrow, and carpenter tools.
  • May dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, and clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials.
  • May set up markers, cones, barricades and may be used as a flagger to control traffic
  • Ensure compliance of all safety procedures and policies while promoting company's safety culture
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
