Job summary

CORRE, INC. is seeking a mid-level civil engineering technician to lead or support field operations on active WisDOT highway projects. The role emphasizes inspection, documentation, and coordination with engineers, contractors, and WisDOT staff in Wisconsin.

The position requires an Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology and substantial field experience, with HTCP certifications preferred. A valid driver's license and ability to travel to sites are expected as part of field duties.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field.
• 6-15+ years of experience in roadway or bridge construction inspection.
• Familiarity with WisDOT specifications, standards, and documentation procedures (preferred).
• WisDOT HTCP certifications (Aggregates, Concrete, Asphalt, Density) strongly preferred; ability to obtain if not already certified.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects and/or perform daily construction inspection on WisDOT highway and bridge projects, ensuring contractor compliance with project plans, specifications, and standards.
• Document field activities, track quantities, and prepare daily inspection reports using WisDOT-approved systems (e.g., AASHTOWare Project).
• Conduct or observe field testing of materials (concrete, asphalt, soils, aggregates) in accordance with WisDOT requirements.
• Communicate and coordinate with project engineers, contractors, and WisDOT staff to address issues in the field.
• Perform or support team with project documentation, pay estimates, and plan interpretation.
• Assist with traffic control checks, erosion control monitoring, and safety compliance.
