Qualifications

• Two (2) years of transportation construction inspection experience or equivalent
• High School Diploma required; Associate Degree may substitute for one year of experience
• Read and interpret plans and specifications, measure quantities, and perform quality control testing on highway materials

Responsibilities

• Perform technical inspections to ensure contractors build quality projects
• Monitor and document roadway, highway and bridge construction per plans and specs
• Quality assurance monitoring for soils, concrete, aggregates, and bituminous products
• Comply with overtime requirements for PA Turnpike, PennDOT and project clients
• Meet with Client Project Engineer/Manager/Supervisor daily to receive instructions
• Complete project documentation: daily progress reports, cost estimates, and labor/material/equipment records
• Ensure highway occupancy permit compliance and erosion/sediment controls compliance
• Request guidance from Manager/Supervisor for inspection-related instructions
