Job summary

APAC Alabama, Inc. in Dothan, AL seeks a dependable Backhoe/Broom Operator to support construction, paving, and roadway maintenance.

You will operate backhoes and power broom equipment to perform excavation, trenching, material handling, site cleanup, and sweeping duties, with emphasis on safety and quality. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of heavy equipment experience in road construction or utility projects, knowledge of OSHA guidelines, and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating backhoe equipment.
• Experience operating construction sweepers or power broom equipment preferred.
• Experience in road construction, asphalt paving, utility work, or heavy civil construction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate backhoe and broom equipment in support of construction and paving projects.
• Operate power broom equipment to clean roads, paving surfaces, shoulders, and construction areas.
• Remove debris, dirt, excess aggregate, and other materials to prepare surfaces for paving or project completion.
• Assist paving, utility, site development, and maintenance crews as needed.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment.
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, truck drivers, and other equipment operators.
• Assist with general labor duties when equipment operation is not required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
