Job summary

Texas Materials, a CRH company, seeks a dependable Backhoe/Broom Operator in Houston to support construction, paving, and roadway maintenance. You will operate backhoes and power broom equipment for excavation, trenching, material handling, and sweeping tasks, ensuring safety and efficiency on site.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years with heavy equipment in construction, strong safety discipline, and teamwork, plus the ability to follow plans and maintain equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience operating backhoe equipment preferred.
• Experience operating construction sweepers or power broom equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate backhoe and broom equipment in support of construction and paving projects.
• Perform excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling, and material handling activities.
• Operate power broom equipment to clean roads, paving surfaces, shoulders, and construction areas.
• Read and follow project plans, grade stakes, and supervisor instructions.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
