Job summary

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is hiring a Roadside Technician in Webster, MA. This role dispatches to customer locations to repair or replace tires on semi-truck fleets, often roadside. You will also assist with shop duties when not on calls and receive training if experience is limited.

Starting pay is $18 per hour with an mandatory on-call rotation. After-hours calls are paid at double time with a minimum of 2 hours per call.

• Servicing Commercial Tires including dismounting, mounting, and repairing any type of tire.
• Perform match mounting, match mating dual assemblies, and radial runout as necessary.
• Inflating of tires to prescribed PSI per load requirements.

• Respond to tire-related failures at customer locations as a roadside technician.
• Assist with shop duties during off-call periods.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures including PPE and tire cages.

Job description

Starting Pay: $18 Hourly

The role of the Roadside Technician position in our company can be broken down into one sentence: “An emergency response tire technician for semi-truck fleets”. To elaborate a bit further; when a customer has a tire related failure, a Technician is dispatched to the customer's location to repair or change the tire. This means that a Technician is expected to be roadside when performing their job duties. During times when there are no service calls pending, Technicians will be expected to help mount orders, clean and organize the shop, and other general duties as needed.

Shift Information

There is a mandatory on-call rotation. During a Technicians' on-call period, they are expected to run after-hours service calls at a 95% Accept rate, which includes weekends and nights. After-hours service calls are paid in double-time with a minimum of 2 hours per call!! An example being if a Technicians accepts, arrives, and completes a call in 45min they will receive an additional 1 hr. 15 min of double time pay!!

Basic Requirements

• Valid driver's license and meet commercial driver qualification requirements
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Previous Commercial Service Tire experience
