Job summary

Goodyear is seeking a Roadside Technician to respond to tire-related failures for semi-truck fleets. You will be dispatched to customer locations to repair or change tires, and occasionally support shop tasks like mounting orders and cleaning when calls are slow.

Starting pay for the market: $20 Hourly

The role of the Roadside Technician position in our company can be broken down into one sentence: "An emergency response tire technician for semi-truck fleets." When a customer has a tire related failure, a Technician is dispatched to the customer's location to repair or change the tire. This means that a Technician is expected to be roadside when performing their job duties. During times when there are no service calls pending, Technicians will be expected to help mount orders, clean and organize the shop, and other general duties as needed.

Experience isn't required for this position. You will be trained in any skills required.

Shift Information: There is a mandatory on-call rotation. During a Technician's on-call period, they are expected to run after-hours service calls at a 95% Accept rate, which includes weekends and nights. Time worked in after-hours service calls is paid in double-time with a minimum of 2 hours per call!! An example being if a Technician accepts, arrives, and completes a call in 45min they will receive an additional 1 hr 15 min of double time pay.

• Previous Commercial Service Tire experience

About the Role: What skills will you learn?

• Servicing Commercial Tires including dismounting, mounting, and repairing any type of tire.
• Perform match mounting, match mating dual assemblies, and radial runout as necessary.
• Inflating of tires to prescribed PSI per load requirements.
• Complying with OSHA regulations and safety requirements including; how wear proper PPE, use tire cages, and follow all other safety policies and procedures.
