Job summary

Dawson County Government is seeking a skilled equipment operator to support road construction and maintenance projects. You will operate a tractor and other equipment to build and maintain county roads, rights-of-way, and drainage systems, ensuring safety and quality.

Minimum qualifications include 18+, a CDL Class A or B with a clean MVR, basic reading/writing/math, and 1–2 years in a similar role. A background check and drug screen are required.

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for operating a tractor and other equipment to construct and maintain county roads, rights-of-way and drainage systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:

Applicant must be at least 18 years of age, have ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations; high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Applicant must have sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had similar position for one to two years. Applicant must have possession of a Class A or Class B Commercial driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). Applicant must be able to pass a Background Check and Drug Screen.
