Job summary

Office of Gilmer County Commissioners in Ellijay, GA is seeking a Road Crew Worker to perform physical manual labor in road, grounds, and facilities maintenance. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 0-2 years of working in street and/or facility maintenance, grounds keeping or related field.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license along with a clean MVR check.
• Physical ability to perform moderately physically demanding work and operate related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs manual work functions related to road construction, maintenance and repair projects (roads, drainage, sidewalks, signs, pipes, etc.).
• Maintains rights of way, parks, grounds and public areas (mowing, trimming, planting, mulching, debris removal).
• Operates power tools and light equipment; assists with maintenance and repair tasks.
• Responds to emergencies during inclement weather or other events; ensures safety and compliance with codes and policies.
