Job summary

Washington County is seeking an Operator III for Roads to support the construction, maintenance, and improvement of county roads. The role includes operating road equipment, maintaining shop tools, and assisting with sign installation and inventory control.

The position requires passing a criminal background check, eligibility for required security clearances, and compliance with pre-employment and random drug testing policies. EOE.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
• Must be able to obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances where required
• Subject to pre-employment, random drug and reasonable suspicion testing
• If a promotional position, must pass an assignment drug test

Responsibilities

• Operates road department equipment including dump trucks, loaders and graders
• Maintains parts inventory and shop equipment
• Monitors identification and informational signing and installs highway signs as needed
• Maintains tools and equipment and handles sign material/inventory valued at $100,000
