Qualifications

  • FRA practices and standards knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all track and structure maintenance.
  • Plan and implement maintenance programs and capital projects.
  • Manage maintenance and capital programs to ensure safety, productivity, quality, and budget adherence.
  • Instruct workforce on safety compliance and mandated programs.
  • Negotiate pricing for equipment and materials.
  • Purchase materials for Maintenance of Way projects.
  • Participate in weekend duty assignments.
  • Supervise Maintenance of Way employees, including training and performance reviews.
  • Oversee work performed by outside contractors.
  • Handle railcar movement clearances.
  • Recommend hiring and discipline decisions for Maintenance of Way staff.
  • Assist with annual business planning and expense projections.

Job Summary

Requirements
  • Preferred minimum 15 years of experience in railroad track maintenance and construction.
  • Preferred minimum 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of railroad maintenance and construction practices.
  • Proven track record providing leadership and results in safety.
  • Thorough knowledge of FRA practices and standards, including Roadway Worker Safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Must be able to work effectively with all levels of municipal and state governments.
  • Must become qualified on the General Code of Operating Rules.
  • Valid driver's license required.
