Job summary

Lee County Tax Collector is seeking a part-time Road Test Examiner in Fort Myers to support new driver testing while helping ensure safety. The role offers flexible part-time hours with a Monday–Friday schedule and weekends off, and compensation starts at $18.38 per hour.

You will conduct road tests, provide clear guidance, score performance, and share results with applicants. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, are at least 21, possess a Florida driver’s license, and demonstrate

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; supplemented by customer service or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training and/or experience.
• 21 years of age or older and driving for four years or more.
• Must have and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license.
• Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to speak and read a foreign language is preferred.

Choose Your Preferred Shift!

• Early Bird: 7:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
• Mid-Morning: 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
• Afternoon: 11:45 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.

Requirements

FLSA Status Description

Work is performed independently under limited supervision with considerable latitude. Position typically requires processing and interpreting complex, less clearly defined issues.

Work Conditions

Physical Ability: Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and material of medium to heavy weight (20-50 lbs.). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.

Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate visual cues or signals, and to communicate orally and in writing.
