Job summary

Transdev North America in Lawrence, Kansas seeks an experienced Road Supervisor to manage daily route operations with a strong focus on safety and driver performance. You will oversee scheduling, coaching drivers, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

The role requires a CDL with passenger and airbrake endorsements, supervisory experience with hourly staff, and proficiency in MS Office. This on-site position offers union pay scales and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid CDL with passenger and airbrake endorsements required.
• 2–3 years transit supervisory experience preferred; supervises hourly employees.
• Computer literate with basic MS Office knowledge (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Must be able to work shifts or flexible schedules; DOT drug testing may apply.

Responsibilities

• Communicate job requirements and responsibilities to drivers.
• Schedule daily routes, counsel drivers, and submit evaluations to management.
• Conduct on-scene accident investigations and assist with report prep (OSHA & safety violations).
• Develop and host driver training and safety courses; retrain drivers post-accidents.
• Observe drivers on the road and address safety issues on-site while documenting violations.
• Liaise between drivers, customers and the organization on safety concerns.
• Evaluate driver safety and performance per policy and legal standards.
• Assist Safety Manager with DOT/FTA compliance and recordkeeping.
• Drive routes periodically as needed.
• Support additional duties as required.

Transdev in Lawrence, Kansas is hiring a Road Supervisor. Road Supervisors ensures all routes are completed in compliance with safety procedures. We are seeking customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety.

CBA Position - Position Subject To Collective Bargaining Agreement

Transdev is proud to offer:

• $22.15- $29.60 (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Payscale)
• Starting pay $22.15 with progression to $29.60 over 5 years.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate job requirements and responsibilities to drivers.
• Day to day scheduling, counseling, and submitting evaluation reports to local management.
• Conduct on-the-scene accident investigations; assist drivers in preparing accident reports, OSHA reports and safety violations documents.
• Develop and host driver training and safety courses; train new drivers and retrain drivers involved in accidents.
• Observe drivers on the road - correct safety problems on the scene while documenting violations.
• Liaison between drivers and both the customers and organization in customer service concerns
• Evaluate and monitor driver safety and performance in compliance with legal, employment and labor policy matters.
• Assist Safety Manager with DOT/FTA compliance - drug testing and recordkeeping.
• Drive routes periodically.
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License with passenger and airbrake endorsements
• Supervisory experience with hourly employees; 2-3 years transit supervisory experience preferred
• Computer literate - basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements

• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
• Sit for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
• Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
• Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
