Job summary

Alta Equipment Group is seeking a Road Segment Technician for our Florida region. The role involves diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing heavy-duty asphalt paving equipment to minimize downtime on construction sites.

You will work on pavers, rollers, milling machines, and related machinery, performing preventative maintenance and repairs to mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of heavy equipment repair experience, experience with asphalt

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of heavy equipment repair experience
• 2 years of experience with asphalt paving equipment (preferred)
• Excellent mechanical aptitude with engine, powertrain, hydraulics and electrical
• Willingness to travel and be on call for nights/weekends
• Possess own tools and positive attitude
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook and basic reading/writing of reports

Responsibilities

• Inspect specific road products and diagnose issues
• Remove and install parts as needed
• Power wash and clean parts for inspection
• Install optional accessories and perform maintenance
• Perform basic diagnosis and troubleshooting on equipment
• Test equipment on road and in field to verify repairs
• Conduct general repairs to electro/hydraulic/pneumatic systems
• Apply Alta's Guiding Principles in daily tasks
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Maintain consistent, reliable attendance
