Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Driver License Examiner to join the Clearfield licensing team. You will administer examinations for both CDL and non-CDL applicants, ensuring safety standards and proper testing procedures are met.

The role emphasizes applicant evaluation, knowledge and road testing, document review, and vision screening, with a strong focus on customer service and accuracy in fee processing.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant or equivalent (Commonwealth job title or Federal).
• Two years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.
• Active PA non-commercial Class C Driver’s License and be 21+ years old at time of application.
• No suspensions or revocations of driver’s license in the last five years.
• Within six months of employment obtain an unrestricted Class M license and maintain it during employment.

Responsibilities

• Determine physical readiness, driving ability, and vehicle condition for safe operation.
• Administer written examinations to assess understanding of the Vehicle Code and traffic signs.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections and road tests for non-commercial license applicants.
• Examine applications, registrations, and permits to identify errors or potential fraud.
• Perform telebinocular, color perception, and other required vision tests.
• Follow customer service policies and apply fee waiver guidelines accurately.
