Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Driver License Examiner to join the Department of Transportation. You will help ensure applicants meet safety standards and identity rules while delivering consistent service at the Driver License Center.

Qualifications

• Active PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license and 21+ years of age.
• No suspensions or revocations in the past five years.
• If hired after Feb 28, 2022, obtain Class M license within six months and maintain it.

Responsibilities

• Conduct driving evaluations and inspect vehicles for safety features.
• Administer vision screenings using approved tools.
• Administer knowledge testing on Vehicle Code and traffic signs.
• Review documents to verify identity and detect fraud.
• Assist customers with applications, renewals, transfers, and CDL requirements.
• Follow REAL ID procedures, customer service policies, and fee waiver rules.
