Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant or equivalent (Commonwealth job title or Federal).
• Two years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.
• Active PA non-commercial Class C Driver’s License and be 21+ years old at time of application.
• No suspensions or revocations of driver’s license in the last five years.
• Within six months of employment obtain an unrestricted Class M license and maintain it during employment.

This role focuses on evaluating driver license applicants through standardized knowledge and practical driving tests. You will ensure applicants meet required safety standards and follow all testing procedures. As a Driver License Examiner, you will perform the following duties:

• Applicant Evaluation:Determine physical readiness, driving ability, and vehicle condition for safe operation

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40 hours/week
• Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Overtime and travel to other driver license centers may be required as necessary.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Two years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.

Special Requirements

• All positions require an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver’s License or equivalent and twenty-one years of age at the time of application.
• All positions require no suspensions or revocations of a driver’s license during the five year period immediately preceding employment.
• All employees in this job hired after February 28, 2022, are required to obtain an active unrestricted Class M driver’s license within the first six months of employment or before the end of the probationary period and maintain it during employment.
