Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One year of construction related experience.
• Valid Washington State Driver's License.
• Possess or obtain within six months a Washington Traffic Flagging Card.
• Valid First Aid Card or obtain within 3 months.
• Experience operating tools and equipment used in roadway maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Controls traffic by flagging to guide traffic through work areas.
• Explain to the public, in a courteous and professional manner, the reasons for the job.
• Follow safety procedures and practice.
• Drive vehicles up to one ton and operate listed equipment.
• Perform manual labor including heavy lifting and shoveling.
• Assist crews with vegetation, drainage, sign/base installation, and surfacing.
