Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance and advanced repairs at customer sites, supporting a fleet including aerial work platforms, pumps, HVAC, and generators.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, 1–2 years of diesel or heavy equipment experience, and a valid driver’s license. CDL may be required in some locations; the role emphasizes safety and adaptability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; some trade school or equivalent training desired.
• 1-2 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC or Oil & Gas equipment) preferred.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record; 21+ and CDL may be required in some locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and diagnose/repair equipment at customer sites to minimize downtime.
• Work on a variety of makes, models, and equipment, including aerial work platforms, pumps, HVAC, and generators.
• Follow safety guidelines and demonstrate a safety-focused approach in all tasks.
