Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic to maintain and repair equipment across multiple locations, including remote sites. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and safe operation on diesel and heavy construction equipment.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of diesel or heavy equipment experience, a valid license, and flexibility to work in fast-paced environments. A bilingual capability may be required depending on location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, some trade school or equivalent training desired.
• 3-5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC or Oil & Gas equipment) strongly preferred.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record (21 years of age & CDL license may be required in some locations).
• Bilingual (Spanish or Other) may be required based on location needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and diagnostics on equipment to minimize downtime.
• Repair equipment in a safe, effective manner across a variety of makes, models, and locations.
• Work with a safety-focused team and adhere to Sunbelt Rentals policies and regulatory requirements.
• Possibly operate and move heavy equipment in remote job sites as needed.
