Job summary

Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. is seeking a qualified mechanic to perform maintenance on machinery, systems, and vehicles with focus on electrical, hydraulic, and diesel areas.

The role requires meeting with crew leads, diagnosing issues, and planning maintenance tasks. You will work from the Cloverdale office and support nearby areas. Applicants should have at least two years of experience, provide their own tools, be willing to travel, and be prepared for 50+ hour weeks.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience minimum in mechanical maintenance or related field.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Experience with electrical, hydraulic and diesel systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance on machinery, systems, and vehicles including tires and tracks.
• Assemble mechanical components according to specifications.
• Inspect machines and oversee diagnostic tests to identify problems.
• Plan maintenance tasks and upgrades; maintain logs and records.
• Monitor inventory and reorder parts as necessary.
• Conduct DOT inspections and ensure compliance.
• Support Cloverdale office and surrounding areas.

Elliot is a full-service electrical contractor specializing in overhead and underground distribution, transmission, substations, lighting, traffic signaling, utility locating and industrial/commercial services.

Job Description

We are seeking a mechanic to perform the following:

• Conduct regular maintenance on machinery, systems, and automotive vehicles including tires and tracks
• Meet with crew members and leads to better understand their concerns and identify issues.
• Assemble mechanical components according to specs
• Examine machines and oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems
• Design a plan of action for all maintenance equipment tasks and upgrades.
• Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records
• Monitor inventory and order new parts when necessary
• Perform vehicle/equipment assessments and alert appropriate parties on issues that will prohibit their vehicle/equipment from operating correctly or passing an inspections
• Perform DOT inspections
• This position will be out of the Cloverdale office and will support surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of two years’ experience
• Must provide own tools
• Experience in electrical, hydraulics, and diesel preferred
• Must have or be eligible to obtain a Class A CDL
• Must be willing to travel when necessary
• 50+ hrs a week expected
