J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. is seeking an entry-level breakdown support specialist to assist drivers and leased operators with vehicle repairs and related guidance.

You will coordinate with vendors, gather information, and route issues to the proper shop to maximize equipment utilization. The role emphasizes timely communication with drivers, vendors, and Operations personnel, with emphasis on safety, cost control, and adherence to approval limits for repairs over $500.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with up to 1 year of related experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
• Ability to communicate clearly with drivers, vendors, and Operations.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming breakdown calls and route to appropriate facilities or vendors.
• Assist drivers with repairs, tires, advances, and repair instructions.
• Provide follow up to ensure timely problem resolution.
• Maintain contact with drivers and vendors to update status and minimize wait time.
• Locate closest vendor to minimize cost and ensure rapid repairs; seek approvals for expenditures over $500.

Job Summary

Under direct supervision, the position is responsible for answering incoming breakdown calls and resolving equipment issues with our drivers and vendors. The incumbent is required to make safe, cost effective decisions to facilitate quick repairs in order to maximize equipment utilization. Must receive management approval for repair expenditures exceeding $500.00.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Assist company drivers or leased owner-operators with vehicle repairs, tires, fuel, advances and repair instructions by promptly answering incoming calls, gathering necessary information and routing them to company facilities or to an approved vendor for equipment repairs
• Provide follow up to ensure problems have been handled in a timely manner
• Maintain contact with the driver and vendors to ensure the repairs will be completed quickly and update Operations personnel as to equipment status
• Locate the appropriate vendor closest to the breakdown to ensure minimum wait time, competitive pricing, and quality repairs to minimize cost; must receive management approval for repair expenditures exceeding $500.00
• Quickly resolve tire and equipment issues related to breakdown, repair, and roadside assistance to ensure quality and safety of repairs, minimize cost, and maximize equipment utilization

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent with up to 1 year of related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Automotive and/or diesel mechanic knowledge
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and shifting priorities and directives
• Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums
• Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with personnel, customers and vendors
• Ability to use time and resources efficiently and effectively
• Ability to work both individually and as a team
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations to provide excellent service

The expected starting pay for this position is $19.25

This position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.

Compensation

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education,experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may beeligible forannual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of theCompany’s bonusand incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
