Job summary

Cameron County is seeking a Road Crewman to perform maintenance, repair and construction of road and drainage infrastructure. You will operate manual and hand tools, assist paving crews and maintain records.

The role requires at least two years of road maintenance or construction experience, a valid Texas driver's license, and the ability to work in challenging outdoor conditions as part of a Civil Service team.

Qualifications

• Two years of road maintenance and/or construction experience.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs road maintenance, brush cutting, trimming and trash removal; assists paving crew in road and drainage improvements.
• Patches roadways; utilizes flagging to direct traffic for public safety.
• Operates light to heavy road construction equipment; uses power tools safely.
• Prepares department documents and maintains records.
