Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public and understand highway signs and signals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain control of grass and weeds by mowing using large tractors and gang mowers.
• Operate single-axle dump truck hauling highway construction or maintenance materials.
• Use power tools and hand tools for highway repairs.
• Load, unload, and stack materials such as salt, sand, cement and chemicals.
• Flag traffic and assist with setting up signs and cones for work zones.
• Respond to emergencies and work in various weather conditions.
