Ashdown, AR-based district position with ARDOT seeks an operator for single axle trucks and mowing apparatus, plus general road maintenance. CDL required within specified timelines; pre-employment drug/alcohol testing applies; duty hours include emergencies and snow operations as needed.

Responsibilities include mowing with tractors, landscape work, traffic control, and equipment maintenance. Strong reading/communication in English and ability to lift up to 50 pounds are needed.

Competenze

• Ability to read, write and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public.
• Experience operating a truck, tractor or heavy equipment preferred.
• Basic math and computer skills; follow oral instructions.

Mansioni

• Mow grass using large tractors and gang mowers.
• Perform landscape maintenance and tree cutting on highways and facilities.
• Operate single-axle dump truck for highway materials.
• Use power and hand tools for highway repairs.
• Load, unload, and stack materials like salt, sand and cement.
• Flag traffic and set up signs/cones for work zones.
• Respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
• Assist with snow removal operations.
• Perform regular servicing and preventive maintenance on equipment.
