Job summary

SA Recycling in Doraville, GA is looking for an Inspector to join our outdoor team. The role requires inspecting inbound scrap, identifying ferrous and non-ferrous materials, and directing customers to the proper collection sites.

You will document inspections in our database, maintain safety standards, and perform general labor as needed. A high school diploma and 1 year of related labor experience are preferred; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• 1 year of general labor in scrap metal or construction preferred.
• Ability to use a computer tablet.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus.
• Ability to follow written or oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
• Identify and grade inbound scrap; reject unacceptable items.
• Direct customer traffic to appropriate collection sites.
• Input customer and scrap data into SA Recycling’s database and complete inspection tickets.
• Observe all customer drop-offs for unacceptable items and perform general labor as directed.

Responsibilities of an Inspector:

• Maintain a broad and working knowledge of different types of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
• Identify and grade inbound scrap and reject unacceptable items.
• Direct customer traffic to the appropriate collection sites.
• Inputs customer and scrap information into SA Recycling’s customer database and completes inspection tickets.
• Observes all customer drop-offs for unacceptable items.
• Performs other general laborer duties as directed.
• This position will work outside in varying weather conditions, and SA Recycling strictly adheres to all Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.

Qualifications of an Inspector:

• High School diploma, GED Certification, or equivalent work experience.
• 1-year previous general labor in the scrap metal or construction industries preferred.
• Ability to use a computer tablet.
• Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus.
• Ability to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
• Ability to learn new tasks as assigned required.
