Preferred Materials - Asphalt, part of CRH Florida Division, is seeking a Mechanic I in Florida to maintain and test heavy equipment, perform repairs, and ensure safety on job sites. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, accuracy, and teamwork within a safety-focused environment.

The ideal candidate holds a High School diploma or GED, a Class A CDL with HAZMAT, and diesel/air system experience. Florida driver’s license with low points is preferred; basic diagnostic tools are desirable.

Qualifikationen

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CDL with HAZMAT endorsement required.
• Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally.
• Ability to perform heavy manual tasks in varying weather conditions.
• Diesel engine, air braking, hydraulic system repair experience preferred.
• Welding and light fabrication skills helpful.

Aufgaben

• Coordinates between Operations to maintain all company, state and federal schedules.
• Fuels all pieces of equipment on jobsites designated by GPS.
• Check and maintain all lubricants on the same equipment.
• Grease all lube points and fill auto grease systems.
• Inspect equipment and report any obvious damage.
• Change oil and filters on smaller equipment; maintain shop lubrication storage.
• Perform road tests and road calls.
• Other responsibilities as required.
