Job summary

American Structurepoint's Road Group in Dallas, TX invites you to join our summer internship as a Road Intern. You’ll contribute to roadway design for TXDOT and local agencies, gaining hands-on experience across a range of transportation projects.

Most work is in the office with occasional site visits. You’ll use MicroStation OpenRoads Designer, prepare plan sets, perform quantity takeoffs, and assist with construction cost estimates, under mentorship to support your growth in civil engineering.

Qualifications

• Current student majoring in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Willingness to learn and collaborate with a team.
• Interest in transportation projects and design processes.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to roadway design by assisting with calculations, layouts, drainage analysis, plan production, and quantity/cost estimates.
• Gain hands-on experience with 3D modeling and tools like MicroStation OpenRoads Designer; other tools include Bluebeam, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Support a wide range of projects from interstates to urban streets with guidance from mentors.

American Structurepoint’s Road Group is seeking candidates to join us for our summer internship program in Dallas, TX! As a Road Intern, you’ll work as part of a close-knit team on roadway projects for TXDOT, cities, towns, and counties throughout Texas. Most of your work will take place in the office , with occasional site visits , as you assist with quantity takeoffs, create construction plan sets using MicroStation OpenRoads Designer (ORD), prepare design documentation, and develop construction cost estimates. From large interstate and interchange projects to urban reconstructions, rural maintenance, and roundabouts, you’ll gain hands‑on experience across a wide variety of impactful transportation projects.

Who you are

• Current student majoring in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Transportation, Hydraulics, or a related program with a focus on Civil Engineering
• Reliable transportation to and from the office
• Strong work ethic , eagerness to learn, willingness to take on new challenges, and a collaborative mindset
