American Structurepoint's Road Group offers a summer internship in Orlando, FL. As a Road Intern you will join a close‑knit team on roadway projects for FDOT and local agencies, perform quantity takeoffs, and help develop construction plan sets using MicroStation OpenRoads Designer.

You will gain hands-on experience across roundabouts, urban streets, interstates, and rural roads, while preparing design documentation and cost estimates.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Contribute to roadway design with calculations, layouts, drainage analysis, plan production, and cost estimates.
• Gain hands-on experience with 3D modeling using MicroStation OpenRoads Designer and related tools.
• Participate in a range of projects from roundabouts to interstates and rural roads; assist with design docs.

American Structurepoint’s Road Group is seeking candidates to join us for our summer internship program in Orlando, FL!As a Road Intern, you’ll work as part of a close-knit team on roadway projects for FDOT, cities, towns, and counties throughout Florida. Most of your work will take place in the office, with occasional site visits, as you assist with quantity takeoffs, create construction plan sets using MicroStation OpenRoads Designer (ORD), prepare design documentation, and develop construction cost estimates. From large interstate and interchange projects to urban reconstructions, rural maintenance, and roundabouts, you’ll gain hands‑on experience across a wide variety of impactful transportation projects.

Responsibilities

What you will do:

• Contribute to roadway design by working on design calculations, roadway layouts, drainage analysis, plan production, and quantity and cost estimates

• Gain hands‑on experience with 3D modeling and work with tools like MicroStation/GEOPAK, Bluebeam, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Get involved in a wide variety of projects—everything from roundabouts and urban streets to rural roads, drainage improvements, and large interstate projects

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Student majoring in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Transportation, Hydraulics, or a related program with a focus on Civil Engineering
