Job summary

American Structurepoint’s Road Group is hiring a Summer Road Intern in Austin, TX. You’ll support roadway design on projects for TXDOT, cities, towns, and counties, contributing to calculations, plan production, and cost estimates.

You will gain hands-on experience with MicroStation OpenRoads Designer, 3D modeling, and design documentation while developing construction cost estimates and learning from a close-knit team. This internship emphasizes growth and real project exposure.

• Current student majoring in Civil Engineering or related program with focus on Civil Engineering.
• Reliable transportation to and from the office.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to roadway design by working on design calculations, roadway layouts, drainage analysis, plan production, and quantity and cost estimates.
• Gain hands-on experience with 3D modeling and work with tools like MicroStation/GEOPAK, Bluebeam, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Get involved in a wide variety of projects—everything from roundabouts and urban streets to rural roads, drainage improvements, and large interstate projects
• Other duties as assigned

American Structurepoint’s Road Group is seeking candidates to join us for our summer internship program in Austin, TX! As a Road Intern, you’ll work as part of a close-knit team on roadway projects for TXDOT, cities, towns, and counties throughout Texas. Most of your work will take place in the office, with occasional site visits, as you assist with quantity takeoffs, create construction plan sets using MicroStation OpenRoads Designer (ORD), prepare design documentation, and develop construction cost estimates. From large interstate and interchange projects to urban reconstructions, rural maintenance, and roundabouts, you’ll gain hands‑on experience across a wide variety of impactful transportation projects.
