Job summary

Tarrant County is seeking an equipment operator to support the maintenance and construction of county roads and city projects. You will operate trucks or light machinery and perform related duties at a work site.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year of related experience, and holds a valid Class C driver license. A Class A CDL with tanker endorsement must be obtained within eight months of hire, with exposure to heat, cold, and chemicals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year related experience; 4 years may substitute for diploma.
• Class C driver's license required on hire; Class A CDL with tanker endorsement within 8 months.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work around hazardous conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operates and/or drives truck or light equipment
• Performs road maintenance or construction related duties while operating equipment
• May transport equipment and supplies
• Controls traffic flow at work site
• Performs routine maintenance on equipment or trucks and reports needed repairs
• Performs all other related duties as assigned
