Job summary

Tarrant County is seeking an Equipment Operator to support maintenance and construction of county roads and city projects. You will operate trucks and light equipment, perform related duties, and help with traffic control at worksites.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of related experience, and a valid Class C license; Class A CDL with tanker endorsement is due within eight months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year related experience.
• An additional four years of related experience may substitute for a high school diploma.
• A current and valid Class C driver license is required upon hire.
• Class A CDL with tanker endorsement is required within eight months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operates and/or drives truck or light equipment.
• Performs road maintenance or construction related duties while operating equipment.
• May transport equipment and supplies.
• Controls traffic flow at work site.
• Performs routine maintenance on equipment or trucks and reports needed repairs.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.
