Job summary

Rooks County is seeking a Road and Bridge Supervisor to lead the department, manage staff, budgets, and critical infrastructure. The role requires a CDL Class A license, ten years in supervisory/administrative work, and strong communication with the public and officials.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CDL Class A driver's license with endorsements required.
• At least 10 years of supervisory/administrative experience.
• Able to follow directives from County Commissioners.
• Strong administrative skills.
• Must pass Drug and Alcohol Policy.
• Able to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Able to communicate with employees, commissioners, and the public in writing and verbally.
• Able to complete required paperwork.
• Able to meet physical requirements and lift up to 100 pounds.
• Willing to work more than 40 hours per week and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Managing employees, reporting weekly to the county commissioners.
• Managing a budget and cash flow for the road and bridge department.
• Maintaining roads and bridges in the county.
• Applying for grants and for state and federal funds.
• Communicating with the public and handling complaints.
