Jefferson County in Golden, CO seeks a Road & Bridge Operations Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership for roadway maintenance, sidewalks, stormwater, and related infrastructure programs. You will oversee budgets, supervise supervisors and staff, coordinate capital improvement projects, and drive safety and efficiency while fostering collaboration with contractors and the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in engineering or related field.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in road construction, roadway maintenance, public works, transportation operations, or related field.
• Three years of supervisory or management experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain Colorado license within 30 days of hire.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for Road & Bridge Division and implement plans and procedures.
• Oversee daily operations and maintenance of roads, sidewalks, stormwater, street sweeping, fleet, and facilities.
• Lead and develop supervisory staff and performance evaluations.
• Standardize processes and advise on safety and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in managing division budget and contracts within approved funding.
• Build partnerships with contractors, engineers, and community.
• Respond to emergencies 24/7 and coordinate snow removal operations.
• Supervise staff and communicate County policies and goals.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management, Public Administration, or a closely related field
