Job summary

Pueblo County is seeking a Road & Bridge Division Supervisor to manage daily operations, including maintenance, repairs, and construction of roadways, bridges, and drainage systems. This role emphasizes safety, quality, and cost-efficiency while coordinating with vendors and internal teams.

You will lead staff, plan short- and long-term projects, oversee budgeting, procurement, and compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
• Minimum seven years in road/bridge maintenance or related field required.
• Minimum four years supervisory experience required in road/bridge maintenance or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily road & bridge operations, including maintenance, repairs, and construction.
• Coordinate staff training, assign work, and participate in hiring decisions.
• Plan and manage budgets, procurement, bids, and cost control.
• Manage vendor, warranty, and contracted maintenance services.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; monitor KPIs.
• Travel to Pueblo County Road & Bridge shops and job sites as needed.
• Oversee safety programs, incident reporting, and safety training.
• Respond to emergencies and provide timely project updates.
