Harris County Precinct 4 in Tomball, TX is seeking a Mechanic to maintain and repair all machinery and vehicles on the Road & Bridge team. You will work in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment with a strong work ethic and initiative.

Qualifications

Solid knowledge of basic mechanic’s tools, service, and diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

Inspect vehicle engines and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately.
Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade.
Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.).
Design a plan of action for all maintenance tasks and upgrades.
Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks).
Assemble mechanical components according to specifications.
Examine machines and oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems.
Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records.
Maintain equipment and tools in good condition.
Monitor inventory and order new parts when necessary.
Offer consultation on maintenance and preventative procedures to machine and vehicle end users.
Perform any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned.
