Job summary

Collin County Government in Texas is seeking a Lead Operator for the Road & Bridge Department. The incumbent will supervise equipment operators, truck drivers, and repair crews, coordinate daily field activities, and assist in the construction and maintenance of roads under the direction of a Foreman.

• Must understand basic operational, technical and office processes.
• Four years of high school education or equivalent.
• At least four years of experience as an Equipment Operator.

Responsibilities

• Supervises equipment operators, truck drivers, and repair crews on job sites.
• Participates in construction, maintenance, and repair of roads, guardrails, bridges, asphalt, and drainage systems.
• Participates in shop repairs including welding, painting, and grinding.
• Reads and interprets construction plans and maintenance tasks, and maintains records and logs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
