Collin County Government in Texas is seeking a Lead Operator for the Road & Bridge Department. The incumbent will supervise equipment operators, truck drivers, and repair crews, coordinate daily field activities, and assist in the construction and maintenance of roads under the direction of a Foreman.

Candidates must have at least four years as an Equipment Operator, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid Texas Class A CDL with an acceptable driving record; welding, painting, and

Collin County is seeking candidates for the position of Lead Operator for the Road & Bridge Department. A Lead Operator is responsible for, but not limited to, supervising personnel and assisting in the construction and maintenance of roads. Work is performed under the direction of a Foreman.

Primary Functions

• Supervises job sites by directing the activities of equipment operators, truck drivers, and repair crews.
• Participates in the construction, maintenance, and repair of roads, guardrails, bridges, asphalt, and drainage systems.
• Participates in shop repairs including welding, painting, and grinding.
• Performs administrative duties by reading and interpreting construction plans and maintenance tasks and maintaining daily records, fuel sheets, and inventory logs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must possess the knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, and office processes.
• Must have a level of education equivalent to four years of high school.
• Must have at least four (4) years of experience as an Equipment Operator.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Class A CDL Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
