Job summary

BerQ RNG is hiring a full-time Plant Operator to operate and maintain equipment at its Renewable Natural Gas facility in Kalamazoo, Michigan. You will ensure plant up-time, product quality, and OSHA/compliance adherence while supporting safe, efficient RNG production.

Ideal candidates bring mechanical and electrical experience, strong teamwork, and a proactive approach to troubleshooting and safety. On-call availability and weekend coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and electrical experience.
• Experience operating and maintaining industrial equipment.
• Understanding RNG production processes and equipment.
• Knowledge of safety regulations in industrial settings.
• Able to troubleshoot and solve technical issues independently.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to be on call including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, operate, adjust, and repair RNG equipment to maximize gas production safely.
• Execute proper startup and shutdown procedures for RNG systems.
• Collaborate with engineering to optimize production processes.
• Conduct routine quality checks on manure and product gas.
• Maintenance tasks and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.
• Adhere to safety protocols and promote a culture of safety.
• Maintain accurate records of operations and maintenance.
• Respond to emergencies following established protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
