Job summary

AD Energy Recruitment is seeking an experienced Operations Engineer to optimise RNG and biogas facilities. You will analyse process data, identify performance improvements, and support design and construction with an operational perspective.

Collaborate with operations, maintenance and instrumentation teams to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure reliable plant performance across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• 7+ years engineering experience in gas processing or related plants.
• Experience in RNG/biogas is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to improve plant performance via optimization and analytics.
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation, control systems, SCADA, and P&IDs.
• Experience with data analytics tools such as Power BI is advantageous.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and cross-functional teamwork.
• Willingness to travel to operational facilities as required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production performance across multiple RNG facilities to identify optimisation opportunities.
• Analyse downtime, trends and performance data to improve reliability.
• Troubleshoot anaerobic digestion, manure handling and gas upgrading systems.
• Collaborate with operators, maintenance, and instrumentation teams to resolve issues.
• Develop operational reports and performance metrics for senior management.
• Identify retrofit opportunities to boost efficiency and reduce costs.
• Review process designs, P&IDs and construction plans with a focus on operability.
• Develop dashboards and reporting tools to monitor key KPIs.
• Contribute to engineering standards and best practices across the business.
