Job summary

Piedmont-Healthcare is seeking an experienced RN First Assistant to deliver safe, effective perioperative care in the OR and related areas at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. You will function as an RN first assistant during operative and other invasive procedures, with responsibility for perioperative continuity and patient-family centered care.

The role requires RN licensure in Georgia, CNOR/CRNFA, BCLS, ACLS and PALS, plus completion of an AORN-RN First Assistant program; prior CVOR experience

Qualifications

• Graduate from a nursing program is required.
• Completion of an AORN-RN First Assistant program, which includes didactic and clinical components.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the OR and perioperative services.
• Functions as an RN first assistant during operative and invasive procedures and perioperative continuum in accordance with scope of practice credentials, privileges, experience, education and competency verification.
• At times acts as an RN circulator in the OR.

At times is responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the OR in the role of an RN circulator.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate from a nursing program Required and
• Completion of an AORN-RN First Assistant program, which includes didactic and clinical components Required

Work Experience

• 2 years perioperative RN or RNFA experience Required
• 3 years minimum experience of as an RN or Surgical Tech in the CVOR, if working in the CVOR Required

Licenses and Certifications

• RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNCL Multistate License Required and
• CNOR - Certified Operating Room RN if applicable Required
• CRNFA - Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant Required and
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Required and
• ACLS Required and
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Required
