Job summary

SeqMatic LLC. invites applications for a Research Associate to join our single cell sequencing services team in the San Francisco Bay Area. Candidates should have a solid molecular biology background with emphasis on nucleic acid purification and NGS workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a life science field as listed.
• 2+ years hands-on molecular biology laboratory experience.
• 2+ years RNA extraction and purification experience.
• 2+ years experience preparing RNA sequencing libraries.
• Experience with RNA quality assessment tools and Illumina NGS workflows.
• Familiarity with RNA-seq methods (mRNA-seq, total RNA-seq, small RNA-seq).
• Experience with FFPE samples is desirable and familiarity with automation platforms is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication; ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Sample accessioning and tracking using LIMS.
• Receive, process, and organize customer samples while maintaining chain of custody.
• Extract and purify total RNA from FFPE tissues, fresh tissues, blood, PBMCs, and more.
• Perform RNA quality control using TapeStation, Bioanalyzer, Qubit, and NanoDrop.
• Prepare bulk RNA sequencing libraries using various workflows.
• Operate thermocyclers, qPCR systems, liquid handlers, and benchtop centrifuges.
• Maintain detailed experimental records and ensure quality standards.
• Assist with process optimization, troubleshooting, and new RNA-seq workflows.
• Communicate project status and technical issues with customers and internal teams.
