SeqMatic LLC. invites applications for a Research Associate to join our single cell sequencing services team in the San Francisco Bay Area. Candidates should have a solid molecular biology background with emphasis on nucleic acid purification and NGS workflows.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in a life science field as listed.
• 2+ years hands-on molecular biology laboratory experience.

• Experience with RNA quality assessment tools and Illumina NGS workflows.

SeqMatic is a Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and omics services provider based in the San Francisco South Bay Area. The company was founded in 2012 by former Illumina R&D scientists who are experts in the NGS workflow and related bioinformatics.

We specialize in Illumina NGS platforms, bulk DNA/RNA-seq, Single-cell RNA, as well as custom sequencing services with fast turnaround times. Our lab is CLIA / CAP certified. We recently expanded our capabilities beyond RUO to support clinical trials for our Clients, in addition to incorporating novel technologies such as Spatial Transcriptomics, Epigenetics, Proteomics and Histopathology.

About the Opportunity

SeqMatic has a Research Associate position open to join our single cell sequencing services team. The position requires a strong background in molecular biology, particularly nucleic acid purification and NGS / Omics workflows. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Sample accessioning and tracking using LIMS.
• Receive, process, and organize customer samples while maintaining chain of custody and sample integrity.
• Extract and purify total RNA from a variety of sample types including FFPE tissues, fresh frozen tissues, blood, PBMCs, cultured cells, and other biological specimens.
• Perform RNA quality control using instruments such as Agilent TapeStation, Bioanalyzer, NanoDrop, and Qubit.
• Prepare bulk RNA sequencing libraries using commercial and custom workflows, including poly(A) selection, rRNA depletion, stranded total RNA-seq, mRNA-seq, and small RNA library preparation methods.
• Operate common laboratory equipment including thermocyclers, qPCR systems, automated liquid handlers, and benchtop centrifuges.
• Maintain detailed experimental records in accordance with laboratory procedures and quality standards.
• Assist with process optimization, troubleshooting, technology evaluations, and implementation of new RNA-seq workflows.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members regarding project status and technical issues.

Qualification Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Biotechnology, or a related life science field.
• 2+ years of hands-on molecular biology laboratory experience.
• 2+ years of experience performing RNA extraction and purification from a variety of biological sample types.
• 2+ years of experience preparing next-generation sequencing libraries, preferably RNA sequencing libraries.
• Experience with RNA quality assessment using Agilent TapeStation, Bioanalyzer, Qubit, NanoDrop, or equivalent platforms.
• Experience with Illumina-based NGS workflows and library preparation kits.
• Familiarity with RNA-seq methods including mRNA-seq, total RNA-seq, small RNA-seq, and low-input RNA applications.
• Experience working with FFPE samples is highly desirable.Experience with laboratory automation platforms such as Beckman Coulter, Hamilton, Agilent Bravo, or Opentrons is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to generating high-quality data.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Solid verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
