Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Suffold Suffolk seeks a Registered Nurse to coordinate wound ostomy care on a per diem basis in NSG-In Service. Responsibilities include assessing skin integrity, planning interventions, and guiding staff on wound products.

Requirements include BSN with WOCN or MSN with wound care experience, NYS RN license, and BLS. Five years nursing and two years leadership experience preferred. Per diem role with per diem scheduling.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• NY State RN license/current registration.
• BSN with WOCN Certification OR MSN with wound care experience.
• Current BLS certification from AHA.
• Minimum five years of nursing experience.
• Two years in leadership and education.

Responsibilities

• Consults and evaluates skin/wounds for inpatients.
• Assists staff in care for patients with wounds or at risk.
• Suggests proper support surfaces and positioning.
• Monitors use of rental support surfaces.
• Advises on wound care products and procedures.
• Documents patient progress and communicates to nursing staff.
• Provides ostomy care information to staff and patients.
