Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Registered Nurse - Wound Ostomy Care Coordinator in Patchogue, NY. The role focuses on coordinating clinical care for patients with wounds, ostomies, and impaired skin integrity, while supporting staff and patient advocacy.

The position requires a BSN with WOCN certification or an MSN with wound care experience, at least five years of nursing experience, and NYS RN licensure with BLS.

Qualifications

• BSN with WOCN Certification OR MSN with wound care experience.
• Minimum of five years of nursing experience; two years leadership and education experience (can be combined).
• Current NYS RN license and BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Consult and evaluate skin/wounds for inpatients.
• Assist staff in providing care to patients with or at risk of developing wounds.
• Suggest proper support and positioning surface products.
• Monitor use of rental support surfaces.
• Advise staff on available and appropriate wound care products.
• Evaluate patient progress documenting in chart and communicating to nursing staff.
• Provide information to staff and patients regarding management of ostomy or continent diversions.
• Assist patient and/or family in ostomy or continent care plan.
