Job summary

First Atlantic Health Care in Maine is seeking an ambitious Registered Nurse for our exclusive Weekend Warrior program. The role offers a 26-week contract with a weekend schedule that requires at least three 12-hour shifts per weekend and a defined Friday 6:30 AM to Monday 7:00 PM window.

You will receive a premium of $5.00 per hour for all weekend hours, in addition to standard weekend differentials, plus comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor degree in nursing (AS/BSN).
• Must be a currently registered nurse in Maine with active licensure.
• CPR certification required; ACLS/BLS valued.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate healthcare records and EMR documentation.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.

Schedule & Program Structure

• Commitment Term: A 26-week contract (6 months) commitment to enroll in the program.

• Shift Requirement: Work a minimum of three (3) 12-hour shifts per weekend.

• Weekend Window: The defined weekend begins on Friday at 6:30 AM and ends on Monday evening at 7:00 PM.

• Time Off: You may take up to two (2) non-consecutive weekends off during your 26-week contract term.

Core Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Records & Reporting: Maintaining accurate, complete healthcare records, reports, and electronic medical records (EMR).

• Medications & Treatments: Administering medications (non-intravenous and regular) to patients, monitoring for side effects/reactions, prescribing assistive medical devices, and ordering diagnostic/clinical tests.

• Patient Monitoring: Recording vital signs and medical information while continuously monitoring, reporting, and recording symptoms or changes in patient conditions.

• Care Planning: Assessing, implementing, planning, or evaluating patient nursing care plans by collaborating with healthcare team members and modifying treatment plans as indicated by patient responses.

Education, Licensing & Requirements

• Education: Associate (AS) or Bachelor (BS) degree in nursing.

• Licensure: Must be currently registered and licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine.

• Certifications: CPR certification upon hire or obtained during orientation (must remain current throughout employment). ACLS and BLS training are valued qualifications.

• Contingencies: All job offers are contingent upon receiving excellent professional references and passing the Maine State Background Check.
