Job summary

Susquehanna Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Johnson City, NY is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the weekend nursing team. You will provide high-quality nursing care, perform clinical assessments, administer medications, and help ensure residents' health and safety in collaboration with the care team.

The role is part-time with weekend shifts 7 am–7:30 pm, offering $33–$35 per hour depending on experience and a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Valid NYS RN license required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Experience in skilled nursing or geriatric care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in accordance with resident assessments, care plans, and facility policies.
• Perform resident assessments and monitor changes in condition, communicating concerns to providers, supervisors, and families as appropriate.
• Administer medications, treatments, IV therapies, and enteral feedings within the RN scope of practice.
• Accurately document assessments, care provided, treatments, and resident responses.
• Supervise and support Nursing Assistants to ensure quality resident care and timely completion of assigned tasks.
• Coordinate care with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members.
• Ensure resident care plans and clinical documentation remain current and accurate.
• Follow infection control, safety, resident rights, and confidentiality standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing staff education activities.

REQUIREMENTS

• Associate\'s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor\'s Degree in Nursing preferred
• Valid NYS Registered Nurse (RN) License required
• Current CPR Certification required
• Experience in a skilled nursing facility or with the geriatric population preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation abilities
• Ability to supervise nursing assistants and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
• Commitment to providing compassionate, resident-centered care
