Job summary

Four Seasons is seeking a Weekend Support RN to provide nursing coverage for Buncombe County and surrounding areas. The role includes after-hours symptom management and admissions support, working with a clinical team leader and coordinating with other providers to ensure quality hospice care.

The position requires an active NC RN license, two years of clinical experience preferred, and a commitment to compassionate patient care within a salaried framework with weekend premium pay.

Weekend Support RN

Reports To: Clinical Team Leader

Status: Salaried + $3/Hour Weekend Premium

FT/PT/PRN: Full time

Shift: Friday, Saturday and Sunday 8AM to 8PM

Location: Serves Buncombe County and surrounding area

Position Summary

Providers nursing coverage to patients/families/community partners via phone & in person visits, including admission to hospice services, as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Practice within the scope of license, certification or registration, where applicable, and as required by law and regulation
• Serve as first responder for symptom-based calls from current patients after normal office hours
• Provide guidance to patients and families as needed or communicate need for case manager or designee follow up promptly
• Participate in implementation and coordination of patient’s hospice care
• Assist with emergency admissions
• Assess the patient's physical and mental health including the patient's reaction to illnesses and treatment regimens.
• Record and report the results of the nursing assessment.
• Plan, initiate, deliver, and evaluate appropriate nursing acts.
• Teach, assign, delegate to or supervise other personnel in implementing the treatment regimen.
• Collaborate with other health care providers in determining the appropriate patient and family-centered plan.
• Implement the treatment and pharmaceutical regimen prescribed by any person authorized by State law to prescribe the regimen.
• Provide teaching and counseling about the patient's health.
• Report and record the plan for care, nursing care given, and the patient's response to that care.
• Supervising, teaching, and evaluating those who perform or are preparing to perform nursing functions and administering nursing programs and nursing services.
• Providing for the maintenance of safe and effective nursing care, whether rendered directly or indirectly.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience:

• Two years of clinical experience preferred

• Valid NC RN license
• Valid Driver’s License and proof of automobile insurance
