Job summary

The San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living in San Francisco’s Excelsior neighborhood is seeking a Unit Supervisor for the Friedman Unit(s). The role supports the Clinical Unit Manager and plans nursing care strategies to deliver high-quality care in compliance with regulations.

You will lead rounds, coordinate with physicians, manage staffing, and mentor a multidisciplinary team while advancing quality and resident outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current California RN licensure and BSN required.
• At least one year of clinical work experience in a post-acute and long-term care environment.
• Knowledge of State and Federal/CMS guidelines and regulations preferred.
• Able to demonstrate leadership ability and teaching skills.
• Able to provide direction and coordination for a multi-faceted program, including problem resolution within the facility.

Responsibilities

• Make rounds at the beginning of the shift to establish a baseline for assessment of resident needs and supervision of care.
• Discuss with the attending MD regarding changes in the resident’s condition, medication, and treatment; ensure signatures are obtained.
• Oversee the provision of medications, treatments, and nursing services per care plan and orders.
• Manage admission orders and assist in transcription of MARs and TARs; coordinate discharge processes.
• Plan and evaluate programs; provide a professional role model; support unit goals and education.
• Monitor unit QA/Improv. activities; identify opportunities for improvement and initiate PIP as needed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team for integrated care; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prepare units for CDPH surveys and assist with plans of correction as needed.
